Maria Franca Grisolia

Biography
Maria Franca Grisolia
Born in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic)
He lives permanently in Italy.
My Dominican cultural bases merge with school education and artistic activity developed in Italy.
Initially, I worked a lot with drawing, studying proportions, perspectives and light and shade, particularly on the human figure (which was very useful to me during my teaching years).
For a long time, fascinated by the ink technique,I used nibs of various sizes, with black ink on Bristol sheets.
For years I have enjoyed working with the oil on canvas technique.
I love classical art in general, particularly Italian Humanistic and Renaissance art.
In my work, I try to represent more or less manifest aspects of our society, with the human figure as the protagonist.
(often the woman) with her uncertainties and her positivity, her weaknesses and her differences.
The colors help me in the representation of feelings and I often use the gradient technique.
I believe that the knowledge of ancient art is a fundamental prerequisite to knowing and loving the modern one.
Art is a universal language!
