Artist Statement

Original art for me is something spiritual and I truly believe that it can be soul-feeding. If my painting makes you feel a particular emotion... you can know that you're hearing the echo of what was poured into it. Every stroke of the brush and the flow of liquid paint is an outlet for love, peace, and joy. It's artistic therapy and self-expression.

What first prompted you to think of becoming an artist?

I don't think you decide to become an artist. Art chooses you through the love of creation. My passion for art unlocked the door of my creative potential to think and dream of becoming an artist.

What kind of an artist do you ultimately see yourself?

When reflecting upon what kind of an artist I am I sometimes think that I just have to let go. True identity and authenticity cannot be forced or fabricated but emerges from within when one has the courage to let go. I just do me. I have a strong belief that whatever I do, my passion and authenticity will draw people in.

What are you hoping to communicate to the viewer through your work?

Most of my works represent a tool for communication of the human mind, body, and spirit. I love to express positive vibrations in my paintings. I hope that the viewers will forget that they are looking at a painting and instead see an alternate reality. My works are effortless creations that touch the human heart.

Can you explain the process of creating your work?

I paint exclusively in acrylic. I usually start my creation by applying thick undercoats then I select a palette of colours that I work in different ways: with a brush, with a knife.

What is your favourite part of the creative process?

I love the whole process from thinking on the idea to working by composing a visual harmony between colors, shapes, and the effects of materials.

Can you give us an insight into current projects and inspiration, or what we can look forward to from you in the near future?

As you know, art is very subjective in nature. What some people like, others do not and I am truly aware of that. I am now in the process of creating something different as I continue to keep experimenting at my own pace and stick with my own style and my favorite techniques. Experimenting means trial and error for me. I love this sense of freedom when I am expressing myself through my artwork. When I pick up a brush loaded with brilliant color, something magic begins to happen. The energy pulse in every brushstroke creates happy accidents guided by an unknown force that let the painting create its own destiny. I totally surrender to let the energy direct me.
