Artist Statement

My artworks are inspired by the Asian traditional arts, which also called as illustrations. Growing up in Japan, seeing not only the historicalartworks, but also art like manga and anime, I have been absorbed in the beauty of those artworks.
My subject matter is inside of human feelings.
I try to draw the real figure of people in the society. I mix the flowers, human body and faces as the motif to express human feelings such as saddness, anxiety, fear, joy and love, etc.
I wanted to draw the people’s feelings like a landscape.
Although most Japanese people do not have a religion, growing up in Christian family, I have been fascinated by many masterpieces of European paintings like the works of Michelangelo, Leonard de Vinci.
I am interested in expressing the human in the modern world, searching the unshakable “truth” through the same biblical themes that the ancient masters depicted.
I try to draw my interpretation of human feelings within the Bible verse in a contemporary way.
My goal is to inspire those who see my work to see more deeply the world around them, to discover the purpose of their life, hope and beauty of life itself.
