Biography

Cinzia Quadri is an Italian multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses painting, drawing, mixed media, and ceramics. Since childhood, art has been an essential form of expression and self-discovery, evolving into a lifelong exploration of memory, emotion, and the human experience.

Here with me - oil on canvas with metallic acrylics - 80x120 cm - 2024 - Memory, presence, and desire intertwine in a suspended landscape, where each level of interpretation reveals a new possibility of encounter.

Working across multiple techniques, Quadri allows each artwork to determine its own visual language according to its emotional and conceptual needs. Her creative process is rooted in deep introspection, where personal memories, unconscious impressions, and lived experiences gradually take shape through colour, gesture, texture, and material. Rather than illustrating reality, her works seek to reveal its hidden emotional and symbolic dimensions.

Artist Statement

My artistic practice stems from a deep and instinctive connection with art, which has accompanied me since childhood as my most authentic language of expression and self-discovery. Creating is not simply an aesthetic act; it is an inner necessity, a way of exploring emotions, memories, and those invisible dimensions of experience that words often cannot express.

The Hidden Kiss (My Dad's Ties) - Oil on canvas with metallic acrylics - 70 x 100 cm - 2023 - A tie that belonged to my father becomes a living memory and the origin of the work.

Rather than limiting myself to a single medium, I work across painting, drawing, mixed media, and ceramics. Each artwork finds its own material and technique according to its emotional and conceptual needs. I see every medium as carrying a distinct voice, capable of revealing different layers of meaning and allowing the work to develop in its most authentic form.

Every piece begins with a profound dialogue with myself. My creative process is rooted in attentive listening—to emotions, thoughts, conscious memories, and the traces left by the unconscious.

Images rarely appear all at once; they emerge gradually, shaped by lived experience, dreams, intuition, and reflection. Through colour, gesture, texture, and matter, I seek to reveal what often remains unseen: vulnerability, resilience, longing, silence, and the questions that define our existence.

In recent years, my research has increasingly focused on the idea of transformation—not as a simple change, but as a profound process through which memories, emotions, and fragments of experience can find new meaning.

For me, art is not about providing answers, but about opening spaces for reflection, connection, and inner transformation.
