South Korea-based Buyong Hwang is a painter with a background in graphic design. His works delve into the subconsciousness through abstract stimuli. Each silhouette features recognisable forms - such as birds and leaves - but does so subtly, asking the viewer to look deeper and see something new. A happy man is not without wounds, but a man can heal himself through many wounds.
Paul Veron (Amazilia Photography) was born in 1959 in the Channel Islands, where he still lives today. He studied natural sciences to degree level in Aberystwyth and Swansea Universities, before attaining his Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Exeter University, UK. Amazilia’s art centers on the beauty, grace and intrigue of the female nude; a subject which has fascinated artists, and drawn them like moths to the flame in every creative discipline for millennia.
Albina Rolsing, based in Germany, is an artist open to exploring and creating different interdisciplinary artistic approaches. Her Art is versatile.
Marina Koraki graduated from the School of Fine Arts of Athens in 2006, supervised by Chronis Botsoglou. She further studied the arts of mosaic, stained glass as well as digital arts and scenography in Academia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Since 2002 she has participated in group and personal exhibitions in Greece, Cyprus, Italy and USA.
Between May 24 and June 10, OJ hosted the first duo exhibition of two young Italian artists, Monia Ben Hamouda and Michele Gabriele, entitled “It won't only kill you, it will hurt the whole time you're dying". Monia Ben Hamouda and Michele Gabriele are both artists based in Milan,IT. We came together with the artists to talk more about themselves and their upcoming show in OJ.
