Simone von Anhalt was born in Munich, Germany, but emigrated as a young girl to Brazil. During her several years living there, she was markedly affected by local culture; the people’s soul and love for nature remains with her today.
The enchanted Diamond, 2025. Acrylic on canvas, 120 x 80 cm
Now living once again in Munich with her family, Von Anhalt’s work is distinctly inspired by her childhood in Brazil and her cosmopolitan lifestyle. Her works talk silently, touching others with their expressive color and size.
The dance of eternity, 2025. Acrylic on canvas, 100 x 100 cm
Von Anhalt’s canvases often focus on gradations of a single color, harmonizing them with languid forms and brushstrokes such that each canvas captures the soulful spirit of Brazil she cherishes so deeply. Von Anhalt is not limited by the formal dimensions of artmaking, and chooses instead to capture the feelings of time and momentariness.
The gateway to wisdom, 2025. Acrylic on canvas, 120 x 80 cm
Her paintings connect the viewer with their inner being, unfolding reflective and personal emotions within us. Von Anhalt prefers to work in utter solitude, neglecting outside forces to channel her own inner self onto the canvas.
The Fairytale forest, 2025. Acrylic on canvas, 190 x 190 cm
She employs acrylic mixed with pigments, gold, sponges, and palette knives to create these lush canvases. Her studio acts as her refuge, and, as a result, her paintings allow the viewer to take refuge in the way they capture peace and encourage subjective emotion.

Artist Statement
What does art mean to me?
For me, art is the highest form of human expression. It preserves what words often cannot capture: our experiences, dreams, and emotions. Art challenges, inspires, connects – and reminds us how deeply we are linked to one another as human beings.
Awakening, 2019. Acrylic on canvas, 150 x 120 cm
What do I want to achieve with my art?
I want to bring joy, strength, and a sense of well-being into the world. Especially in our times, it is more important than ever to fill spaces with positive energy – to create places that empower, inspire, and restore inner balance. The joy and positive transformation I experience and share through my art in different spaces is truly a matter of the heart for me.
On Fire, 2023. Acrylic on canvas, 190 x 140 cm
My Creative Process:
I usually begin with an idea, but often, as I paint, a vivid and living dialogue unfolds between me and the artwork. My experiences, moods, and impressions find their way onto the canvas through color and form – a fascinating process that allows each painting to grow into something truly unique.
