Biography

Melissa's journey as a photographer is a testament to her passion and dedication to the art form. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she discovered her love for photography early on, which led her to pursue formal education at the Oak Bridge Academy of the Arts. Melissa has spent most of her career working in the portrait and event industry.

However, in the past decade, she has embarked on an exciting new chapter, exploring the world of fine art photography. This shift has allowed her to express her creativity in new and profound ways, experimenting with composition, light, and subject matter to create compelling visual narratives. Her work reflects a deep understanding of both the technical and artistic aspects of photography, and she continues to inspire others with her unique perspective and artistic vision.

Artist Statement

My photography is a depiction of how I see the natural world and all the mystery it holds. Sometimes bright and colorful in its beauty or dark and ominous, but beautiful just the same. Although I do feel that I'm more drawn to what exists in the shadows. A dreamlike entity that resides at the fringes of perception, a mystical presence that dances between reality and imagination.
