Artist Statement
I love mixing colours and their radiance. I am fascinated by the world of colours, shapes and art, as there is always something new and interesting to discover. Perceiving, reflecting on and visualising coincidences, moments, events, dreams, ideas, themes, feelings and desires.
Geborgenheit, 2012, Oil on canvas, 100 x 80 cm
Expressing this artistically in abstract or figurative form is my artistic motivation. I enjoy working with oil and acrylic paints on canvas using various techniques, such as brush, wipe, throw, texture, scratch, glaze, spray, watercolour, wet-on-wet and palette knife techniques.
Verständnisvoll, 2014, Oil on canvas, 140 x 100 cm
Due to my versatility, I work on approximately 15 different small and larger series and accept commissions. (Series: Great Moments / People in Everyday Life / Around Schwabmünchen / Gemstone Pictures with the Unicorn Anschpa, Children's Book about a Little Gemstone Expert / Lovely Pink Art / So Easy / Current Events / Flowers / Beige Brown Meets Black / Beige Brown Meets Red / Travel Memories / Vehicles / Houses / Gentle Nature / Vitamin C / (additionally under my pseudonym Svenja Lunise Schenkengel – colour field meditation and fantasy artworks).
Amüsant, 2014, Oil on canvas, 140 x 100
As an example, my abstract series Great Moments deals with different human behaviour patterns (currently 31 of 65). Often there are blockages and patterns whose opposite is the solution to regaining harmony. If you feel ‘unloved’, you are not feeling ‘secure’.
Vertrauensvoll, 2015, Oil on canvas, 100 x 80 cm
If you feel ‘betrayed,’ you are not ‘happy.’ I process these 65 different opposites visually in abstract form and see the random result of the artwork as a positive affirmation to reflect on. My series ‘Great Moments’ is intended for all interested people as pleasant daily affirmation impulses.
Wählen, 2015, Oil on canvas, 100 x 80 cm
My series ‘People in Everyday Life’ is about people and what makes them special. They are painted collages connecting the person with their environment, activities or preferences.
