Artist Spotlight - Jimmie Marler
Biography
Jimmie’s paintings and drawings reflect photographic realism. He has taught Art, computers, & mathematics in colleges & high school for 48 years. He taught for Drury University for over 25 years, Southwest Baptist University for 30 years, Southwest Missouri State for 5 years and High School for 38 years. Jimmie donated over 2,000 artworks to charities. He likes to do religious drawings & paintings, because he feels he has received his multiple talents from God.

Jimmie received his Associate of Arts from Southwestern College in Oklahoma City; his Bachelors of Science from College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, Missouri; a Masters in Art from Drury University, Springfield, Missouri; a Masters in Computers from Columbia University, New York; and a PhD in Computers from Columbia Pacific University, Raphael, California.

Jimmie has done over 15,000 drawings & paintings. He has paintings in over 12 museums throughout the world. Jimmie received a great honor when he was inducted into the Dunklin County, Missouri, Library Hall of Fame, on Oct. 21, 2007. He was the Marquis Who's Who Top Artist for 2023.

Jimmie has been accepted to enter three pieces of art in the PAKS museums in Vienna, Austria, Castle Heidenreichstein in lower Austria & in Munich, Germany. Also, his artwork was at the Modern Art Masters in Complex du Louvre Carrousel du Louvre, in Paris, France, in 2022, 2023 and 2025. His work will be in the other PAKS museums until December of 2026.

He has displayed in the 2nd edition of the Madrid Station Exhibition in March of 2025. He won the Premier Artist prize of 2025 for his entry. His artwork has been featured in many national and international Magazines. He was featured on the cover of the Marquis Who’s Who Magazine Millennium for the Seventeenth Edition. He also received the Man of the Year for 2024 from the Marquis Who’s Who.

He has many paintings in 100+ local churches in Wright, Texas, and Dunklin County, Missouri. He has won several awards in state, county and local competitions. Jimmie participated in the 1985-86 NASA Teacher in Space Program, and he was a state finalist.

He has also been included it a book that came out in Europe, “Art from Leonardo da Vinci to The Present”. In the book he was featured with 242 other artist including famous artist like Albrecht Durer, Van Gogh, Rembrandt & Leonardo da Vinci. He also just won the El Greco Award. He will also have a new book coming out in 2 months, The Christian Faith Publishing will be publishing it. The book will feature over 110 of his Drawings and Paintings of Famous cowboys and information about each one. Artist Statement
I love to draw and Paint. I have done over 15,000 Pieces of art. It is fun to see my work appear on the paper. I believe that God is always helping me on the artwork, and guides me.
