Biography

Eva Berler is based in Athens, Greece. She has been involved in creative art photography since 2019, after a career in marketing. She attended photography seminars in Greece and has completed the "Seeing through photographs" online course at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

She published her first photobook “little miracles” in December 2022 (iFocus editions). She has held two solo exhibitions (May 2023 and November 2024). She is the winner of the Wildlife & Nature category of the 2024 Sony World Photography Awards Professional competition.

Her work was longlisted for the 2025 Aesthetica Art Prize and has been awarded in many other international competitions (PX3 awards, refocus awards, Gabriela Iturbide MA-g awards, Julia Margaret Cameron award, Van Gogh Tribute award, FotoNostrum Choice awards, Foto Slovo awards, International Imaging Competition, Exposure one and 1839 awards).

She has participated in many group exhibitions (in Athens, London, Tokyo, Milan, Berlin, Barcelona, Venice, Florence, Hanoi-Vietnam, Busan-Korea), and her work was feature in collective photobooks and online press, in Greece and abroad.

A selection of images from her series “Suspended worlds” are included in the Museum of Avant-garde´s permanent contemporary collection, in Switzerland.

Artist Statement

My engagement with photography has rekindled my relationship with both nature and my inner world. My work revolves around nature, urban settings, macro subjects, abstract forms, and fine art photography.

Rather than seeking out the extraordinary, I am drawn to the hidden, quiet, and often overlooked aspects of daily life. I seek to uncover beauty, wonder, and poetry within the ordinary, shaping what I call "my little mundane world."

Through my photography, I hope to offer moments of aesthetic calm, a gentle interlude from the relentless visual noise of modern existence, and to evoke a reconnection with personal emotions, memories, dreams, and the natural world.
