Artist Statement

d. Fect is a mixed-media artist based in Yokosuka, Japan, whose work merges contemporary abstraction with a post-graffiti aesthetic rooted in the raw textures of urban decay. Drawing influence from years spent across the United States, Asia, and Europe, his visual language reflects a global fusion of chaos and culture—where color, memory, and time collide.

Vile, 2025. Acrylic and spray paint on cardboard, 15 x 25 cm.

Working with discarded materials, walls, and found surfaces, d. Fect transforms remnants of the everyday into layered compositions that explore impermanence, repetition, and the beauty of deterioration.

Serotonin, 2025. Acrylic and spray paint on canvas, 32.5 x 41.5 cm.

Each mark, drip, and fragment becomes a trace of lived experience—both personal and collective—revealing how destruction and creation coexist within the same gesture. His pieces vibrate with the energy of the streets yet carry an introspective depth, translating noise into emotion and decay into renewal.

Heat Stroke, 2025. Acrylic and spray paint on foam board, 25 x 29 cm.

Through this process, d. Fect builds an ongoing dialogue between the past and the present, the local and the global, the seen and the forgotten—crafting works that don’t just hang on walls, but breathe with the rhythm of the city itself.
