In her own words "I was drawn to painting as a result of various spiritual experiences i had and most of my artworks are the ones i dream of during these mystic experiences".

Could you please introduce yourself and tell us how you started in the arts? and your first experience in art-making?

I am an International award winning artist with affiliation from UNESCO (a United Nation’s body). My talents as an artist range across painting, filmmaking, writing and many more creative spheres.

Throughout my life I have been having a lot of spiritual experiences- for over more than a decade. During these epiphanies, I get shifted to a state of trance and lucid dreams. I have also experienced my body physically getting lifted in air & transporting into a new dimension.

But the incident that specifically started my art journey happened about 2 years ago. I clearly remember the day, I was immersed in a spa in a parlor and fell off in a state of a deep sleep, where I started having lucid 5D dreams again, with very beautiful, out of the world visions and images. Unlike before, this event was so compelling that when I came back home, I knew I had to draw what I saw. And this became the start of my journey as a painter. Hence, Art chose me.

How would you describe yourself and your artwork?

As a child, I had always seen myself at the helm of creativity- an ace dancer, singer, fashion designer, filmmaker, and whatnot. Creativity has always been my core from the start and my spiritual journey has given me a fast track to express it.

My works speak of my inner world- which is trance like, deep, mystic yet blissful and illuminated. I have been told all my works are very unique and never seen before. And that they all speak of a mystic, psychedelic & deep dream effect.

As an artist i am also an award winning filmmaker with several film festival trophies to my kitty. My latest short film trailer has got many rave reviews, notably in The New York Weekly (https://nyweekly.com/entertainment/this-short-film-trailer-has-us-wanting-more/) & has won awards at film festivals.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

During my episodes of spiritual awakening, i get very lucid visions and dreams and get transported to an other dimensional world. That world present to mevisions that are so exquisite and beautiful that I am compelled to paint what I see.

I read the Van Gogh’s quote much after my own experiences, which echo him – “I dream my painting and paint my dream”

What emotions do you hope the viewers experience when looking at your art?

I have been told my artworks give a mystic, psychedelic & deep dream effect and that they are very unique and never seen before. One of the other common factors in my artworks is also luminosity. Most of my paintings have a dark background and a light is thrown from behind. Again this is a reflection of my inner world, which may seem dark cause it’s so deep but is far more illuminated than the world outside. The darkness is a depth that radiates the whole world.

And this is exactly what I want conveyed to my viewers who look at my art.

When do you know that an artwork is finished?

When i gasp with the expression "WoW" looking at it ☺

What has been the most exciting moment in your art career so far?

From peers who said they want to buy my art, to unknown strangers going Woah over my paintings, I have had international platforms such handpicking me for their events & platforms. I have been now represented by 5 coveted global art platforms & 7 galleries across Italy, Spain, France, Seattle, New York, London etc. While I cherish each of my representations, the most coveted has been the UNESCO affiliation as well as  being selected amongst the top 50 artists across the globe to feature in “THE GREAT INTERNATIONAL YEARBOOK OF CONTEMPORARY ART 2021: MADRID EDITION”, which will be kept in the National Library of Spain
Also, when people tell me that my artistic journey has inspired them to paint, I feel very special & rewarded. Each day when people leave comments on my work or send me DMs that I am their muse, it is very flattering 🙂

How long does it take to produce one work?

As i mentioned, i get compelled to paint during my spiritual episodes. During that, I get into a trance like zone and have to finish the painting it in one sitting . So one artworks takes me 8 hours unabated or sometimes more across a few days

What exciting projects are you working on right now? Can you share some of the future plans for your artwork?

In the coming few months, I am exhibiting paintings in the prestigious Brussels art fair, where I am being represented by the VAN GOGH art gallery, Madrid & at Van Der plas gallery in New York alongwith an art fair in Italy.

Where do you see your art going in five years?

I see myself exhibiting in platforms like Art basel in the near future :)
