Biography

Maja Pavlovska - Maja Angel ICA, an International certified, self-taught artist, born 1968 in Skopje, Macedonia, ex – Yugoslavia, living in the Netherlands since 2008, with my son, Boban... Recently achieved a Dutch nationality. I am in the art all my life as an artist painter and lyrics writer... Art is my love! I was attending many Art contests, Art fairs, group and independent exhibitions and achieved many awards for my art and lyrics... My work includes different media and techniques, mostly acrylic on canvas, dry pastel, ink in various colours & aquarelle, pencil on paper and lately digital art from scratch in various software. My art is inspired by life in general and human emotional states of mind. Due to the circumstances by a very rare illness, which caused a total paralyses in 1991, I am forced to use only my left hand in all of my artworks.. There can be noticed very different artworks, colours and ideas, depend on which period they are created...
Artist Statement

Through painting and song writing, I am “mind traveling” to various known and unknown places, "meeting" different people and mentalities, all of them with similar emotions. I`m always trying to express certain emotions in my artworks. Therefore, in my figurative artworks, you can notice mostly women acts, their natural beauty and perfection of the woman`s body as the unique space of a growing new life and giving birth, occupied with different thoughts, whether melancholic, happy or amorous... some of them connected with certain musical instruments. More of the paintings are abstractions, motivated by specific thoughts of how I see the cosmic space connected with some life and divine events... imaginary landscapes, as well as different entities living all together in a beautiful harmony. There are different styles of my artworks, depending on my inspiration during different periods of my life. The techniques are mostly acrylic on canvas, aquarelle with ink in different colours and dry pastels, frequently choosing warm, light and pastel colours. Following the new technology, in last few years I create a digital art from scratch, using various digital programs, so the original files can be printed on any desired medium, canvas, plexiglass, textile, wood and etc.
